Throughout the year, Stratford Athletic Organization conducts fundraising events to continue to provide equipment and to upkeep the facilities for the children of the Baseball, Softball and Basketball programs. Over the last several years, the fundraising has benefitted the rehabilitation of the batting cages, a total makeover to Hagerty Field, continual support for infield mix to all ball fields, and partial funding of the Yellin School AP room basketball backboard replacements. of course, the Board of Directors, with the support of the membership continues to replenish supplies like balls, ice packs and first aid kits along with bats, helmets and catcher's gear that wears out almost as quickly as we can replace them. To that end, below are listed several of the activities that we promote every year. We try to make these events enjoyable for all that participate while keeping our goals in mind. They may not be as big as, say, promotional free poker tournaments but we make sure all participants get their money's worth. We have also moved away from the less lucrative ideas that create more work and are frankly, not as fun!

Our annual event, held for over 10 years now. In 2006, during the most substantial snow storm of the season, we had a sellout crowd. The 2007 event was held at The Palace at Paris Caterers in Blackwood, NJ.

This event has taken on new meaning in the boardroom - Lee Sheilds has embraced this event and has made it a success for 4 years running. The benefit of having fine weather and Ron Jaworski's Valleybrook Golf Club nearby has given the seasoned golfers and the other hackers of Stratford an opportunity to enjoy a day off from the ballfields.

New for 2006, this fall event will offer 2 busloads of SAO members a trip to Atlantic City to try their luck at the slots, the card and game tables, or just a night out to the shore. A first time event for SAO, this one looks like it will be a great event for those looking to support the organization. Good luck everyone!
